Reflections from the CWCT Contemporary Cladding and Facade Systems Course
Continuous learning has always been central to how we work at Regency Facades. The pace of change in the facade sector means designers and engineers need a solid understanding of both the fundamentals and the latest standards. Several members of our design team recently completed the CWCT Contemporary Cladding and Facade Systems course, and their reflections highlight why structured training remains so valuable.
The course provides an introduction to the systems used across modern buildings, from curtain walling to rainscreen and render solutions. It also explains key performance criteria, verification methods, supply chain considerations, and the British, European, and CWCT standards that shape compliant design. For our team, this combination of technical grounding and practical application is exactly what supports safe and robust facade design.
For Assistant Designer Josh Rich, the training was a chance to build confidence early in his career. Josh explained that he wanted to enhance his knowledge with accredited industry bodies and viewed this as essential because of his limited experience when entering the facade sector.
Jack Hannam, also an Assistant Designer, shared a similar view. He is aiming to complete as many CWCT courses as possible and noted that each one has strengthened his understanding of systems, materials, and where they fit within wider facade design.
Training does not only benefit those at the start of their journey. Our Senior Design Manager Dan Richmond took part because even with many years of experience, it is worth revisiting the fundamentals. He found the course useful for staying aligned with current standards and reinforcing the technical principles that underpin the work we do.
Designer Shana Leach echoed this, adding that the sessions helped her deepen her understanding of how designs perform in practice and why keeping pace with evolving industry requirements matters.
Their feedback reinforces a shared belief across Regency that continuous learning leads to better outcomes. It helps us maintain the highest levels of safety and technical rigour and it supports our commitment to precise design, strong compliance, and improved building performance.
As the industry continues to develop, we will keep investing in the knowledge of our teams so we can deliver informed, reliable, and considered facade solutions for our partners.
